MWWPR (www.mww.com), one of the top-five global independent public relations firms, today announced that Matthew Malat has joined MWWPR as a public affairs director in the firm's Trenton, N.J. office.

Prior to joining MWWPR, Malat was the Director of Government Relations for the N.J. Chamber of Commerce. During his tenure as a lobbyist concentrating on economic development, budget issues and healthcare, Malat was instrumental in coordinating a $1.2 million dollar effort against a ballot question on behalf of the state Chamber's involvement with the Coalition to Preserve Jobs and Our Constitution, Inc.

Malat began his career in 2008 as a legislative staffer for the New Jersey Assembly Republican Caucus and later worked as a legislative aide for Senator Anthony R. Bucco, specializing in state budget issues. He also worked for Assemblywoman BettyLou DeCroce and as a senior legislative aide to the late Assembly Republican Leader Alex DeCroce.

Malat is a graduate of Rutgers University, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science.
