Silvercup Studios, New York City’s leading film and television production studio, is busier than ever, adding a number of new television series to the roster of productions at itsMain Lot and East Lot in Long Island City, including: ABC’s hit show Quantico, Amazon’s Original Series,Z and Netflix’s Untitled Stoller/Delbanco Project.

ABC’s Quantico, the television thriller which follows a group of young FBI recruits training at the Quantico base in Virginia, has relocated to Silvercup’s Main Lot from Montreal for the filming of its second season.

Joining Quantico at Silvercup’s Main Lot is Netflix’s Original Series the Untitled Stoller/Delbanco Project, which is set to begin production later this summer. The comedy was created by writer and executive producer Nick Stoller and Francesca Delbanco, the husband and wife team behind Sex Tape and Get Him to the Greek.

Returning to Silvercup’s Main Lot is HBO’s hit Girls, which is filming its sixth and final season, as well as TV Land’s Younger, which returns to Silvercup for its third season.

Silvercup’s East Lot is also currently home to numerous high-profile television productions, including CBS Studio’s Madam Secretary and Elementary. Also filming at the East Lot this summer is Z, a new Amazon Original Series. The period piece series is based on the life of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s wife, Zelda Sayre.

“We’re excited to welcome a host of new productions to the Silvercup stages this summer,” said Alan Suna, CEO of Silvercup Studios. “These series join a lineup of prestigious, well-known productions at both the Main and East Lots, and we hope they will experience the same continued success as the dozens of television series which have been produced here.”

Empire State Development President, CEO & Commissioner Howard Zemsky said, “The film and television industry contributes billions of dollars to New York State’s economy, creating thousands of industry jobs and vendor opportunities for local businesses and making New York the premier destination for top film productions. Studios like Silvercup are booming thanks to the significant growth the industry is experiencing in New York State and, as productions continue to gravitate here, they’re on track for record success.”

“New York’s film and TV industry is bigger than ever, and Silvercup is a major contributor to the City’s success,” said Julie Menin, Commissioner of the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment. “With a record 52 series filmed throughout the five boroughs last season, New Yorkers have felt the positive impact of the industry through billions of dollars to local businesses and thousands of good-paying, full-time jobs. We are thrilled to have Quantico coming to New York for its second season, and glad that the production will be calling Silvercup home.”

In response to the growing needs of New York’s booming film and television production industry, Silvercup Studios is set to open a third location, Silvercup North, at 295 Locust Avenue in the Port Morris section of the Bronx this summer. Silvercup has transformed the space into a 115,000-square-foot full-service production facility.

Silvercup North will feature four production studios with 50-foot-high ceilings, the highest ceilings of any film/TV production studio in New York City, which can easily accommodate two-story sets. The site offers a complement of shops, offices, and other support space essential to support film and television production. With the expansion to its third location, Silvercup Studios will operate more than 500,000 square feet of studio space citywide.

“With the opening of Silvercup North this summer, we will have the ability to help meet the surging demand for television and film production space in New York City,” said Stuart Suna, President of Silvercup Studios. “With the growth of original series on cable networks such as Amazon, Netflix and others, and with the New York State Film and Television Tax Credit program which incentivizes productions to shoot in our great city, there is more demand for studio space than ever before. We are thrilled to have another location to help accommodate all of this new production work.”

Silvercup Studios is one of the largest independent, full-service film and television production facilities in the northeast. With the opening of its third facility in the Bronx this summer, and with its two existing locations in Long Island City, Silvercup Studios operates more than 500,000 square feet of space total, including 23 studios, on-site production offices, and extensive set, prop and wardrobe spaces. Silvercup opened its first studio in 1983 in the former Silvercup Bakery, and throughout its 33 years of operation, it has hosted the production of hundreds of feature films, television series, and commercials.
