Manhattan Skyline Management Corp. Brings Top Tenants To New Retail Locations Throughout NYC

A Flurry of Leasing Activity Includes Birch Coffee, Maison Kayser, Calligaris, and Sprint

Manhattan Skyline Management Corp., one of New York City's leading real estate organizations, has recently placed several top retailers and brands into new locations over the last several months, with new leases signed at many of their prime commercial locations.

Joshua Roth, Vice President, Retail Leasing for Manhattan Skyline Management Corp. represented the landlord on leases signed with Poke Green, Calligaris, Birch Coffee, Thomas Taft Salon, J’s Cleaners, MakiMaki, Sprint and Maison Kayser.

“We’ve seen a lot of movement and momentum within our retail portfolio over the past several months with new leases successfully executed at a number of our properties,” said Roth. “Our commercial locations are in some of the best retail corridors throughout Manhattan, with plentiful foot traffic and visibility. New leases range from Midtown to SoHo, and we’re happy to see strong leasing activity throughout these neighborhoods.”

Recent leases include:

275 Greenwich Street: Poke Green

Poke Green, an eatery specializing in Hawaiian food with fresh and simple ingredients, has signed a lease for 929 square feet of space at 275 Greenwich Street. This store will be Poke Green’s third downtown NYC location and has 17 feet of frontage on Greenwich Street. Located between Murray and Warren Streets, the boutique space is perfectly situated on one of Tribeca’s strongest retail blocks.

520 Broome Street: Calligaris Italian home furnishings retailer Calligaris has opened its first solo, free-standing retail store in New York City, located at the base of luxury residential building 55 Thompson Street. The retail address of the store is 520 Broome Street. Calligarissigned a long-term lease with Manhattan Skyline for the space cconsisting of approximately 3,582 square-feet of ground floor space with soaring 15-foot ceilings and over 40 feet of frontage on Thompson Street. Jason Pruger and Harrison Abramowitz of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank represented the tenant.

71 West Houston Street: Birch Coffee

New York City based coffee roaster Birch Coffee recently signed lease for Manhattan Skyline’s 500 square-foot, ground-floor commercial space at 71 West Houston Street, nestled between West Broadway and Wooster Street in SoHo. Just a few short blocks from Washington Square Park, with 22 feet of frontage on West Houston Street, the shop is Birch Coffee’s newest and eighth location in NYC. Birch Coffee was advised by Kyle Allen.

75 West Houston Street: Thomas Taft Salon

Popular Upper East Side salon, Thomas Taft, has signed a lease for its second NYC location at 75 West Houston in Soho. The 340 square-foot store will bring the salon’s full suite of services to a downtown clientele. The tenant was represented by Elie Khen of Douglas Elliman.

1367 Sixth Avenue: J’s Cleaners

Adding another location to its Manhattan portfolio, J’s Cleaners, a dry cleaning service, recently signed a lease for 550 square-feet of ground floor space at 1367 Sixth Avenue. Situated only steps away from the F line subway station with tremendous residential, office and tourist foot traffic, this space consists of 12 foot ceilings and occupies 12 feet of Sixth Avenue, between 55th and 56th Streets. The property also includes 550 square-feet of basement space.

1369 Sixth Avenue: MakiMaki

New sushi eatery MakiMaki has signed a new lease at Manhattan Skyline’s retail space at 1369 Sixth Avenue. The restaurant, which originated from a big brother location in Miami that still operates its popular outpost there, will occupy the 975 square-foot, two-floor commercial space in the heart of Midtown Manhattan’s Plaza District – a bustling area filled with high-volume residential, office, and tourist foot traffic. The shop has 12 feet of frontage on Sixth Avenue, between 55th and 56th Streets.

1375B Sixth Avenue: Sprint Store

Telecommunications and wireless company Sprint recently opened a new Midtown retail location at 1375 Sixth Avenue. The 840 square foot ground floor space offers 12 foot ceilings and 12 feet of frontage on Sixth Avenue. Its entrance is conveniently located near the F line Subway station between 55th and 56th Streets. Sprint was represented by Jerry Scholder and Dean Rosenzweig of CBRE.

1377 Sixth Avenue: Maison Kayser

Renowned artisanal French bakery and café Maison Kayser recently opened its doors in Midtown. The popular chain signed a lease for a 3,755 square-foot, two-floor commercial space at Manhattan Skyline’s 1377 Sixth Avenue, marking the newest addition to its ten-plus locations in Manhattan. With 30 feet of frontage on Sixth Avenue, between 55th and 56thStreets, the shop is in an ideal location to capture high-volume residential, office, and tourist foot traffic. Maison Kayser was represented by brokers Paul Berkman and Davie Berke of JLL.
