DLA Piper announced today that J. Robert "Robby" Robertson has joined the firm's Litigation practice as a partner in Chicago.

Robertson focuses his practice on antitrust litigation and complex business litigation for clients in a range of industries, including health care, energy, airline, aerospace, automotive, chemical and technology. He has handled dozens of commercial and antitrust trials before federal and state courts, administrative agencies and arbitration panels, and has also represented clients in investigations before the US Department of Justice Antitrust Division and the Federal Trade Commission, where he previously served as chief trial counsel in the Bureau of Competition.

"Robby is a nationally recognized trial lawyer who immediately will enhance our antitrust and commercial litigation practices," said Loren Brown, co-chair of DLA Piper's global and US Litigation practices. "We are confident that clients will value his counsel and turn to him in their most significant cases."

"The addition of a top-tier lawyer like Robby to the firm will continue to enhance our ability to serve clients, both here in Chicago and nationally," said Richard Chesley, co-managing partner of the firm's Chicago office. "We are pleased to welcome him to the firm."

Robertson, who joins DLA Piper from Hogan Lovells, earned his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and his B.A. from the Virginia Military Institute.
