DLA Piper announced today that Andrés González Becerra has joined DLA Piper Martinez Beltran in Colombia as a partner and leader of the Tax practice.

González is one of the most well-known tax lawyers in Colombia, with experience in tax consulting, tax structuring for mergers and acquisitions, international tax law, succession planning and litigation.

"Andrés is a highly regarded lawyer whose extensive skills and experience will allow us to continue providing clients with high-value, sophisticated solutions," said Camilo Martinez, managing partner of DLA Piper Martinez Beltran. "His arrival at the firm is a fundamental step toward ensuring our Tax practice remains a leader in the market."

He joins DLA Piper Martinez Beltran from Lewin & Wills, where he worked as a partner in the Tax practice. He previously worked at PwC in Luxembourg in the Department of International Tax Structures and is a professor in International Taxation for Universidad de los Andes' LL.M. He received his law degree from Universidad de los Andes and his LL.M. in international taxation from Leiden University in the Netherlands.

González is the latest addition to DLA Piper Martinez Beltran in Colombia, where the firm also recently added partners Juan Manuel de la Rosa, Felipe Quintero and José Miguel Mendoza to the Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate practices.
