George Serafin to lead Grant Thornton’s U.S. Industry program

ISELIN, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Grant Thornton LLP has named George Serafin as the firm’s national managing principal of Industry. In this newly created role, Serafin will work closely with Grant Thornton Industry managing partners to execute strategy while creating a consistent Industry program and client experience across its practices.

In addition to his new role, Serafin will continue to serve as national managing principal of Grant Thornton’s Healthcare/Life Sciences practice, as well as Regulatory & Compliance services principal.

Serafin has served as national managing principal of Healthcare/Life Sciences since August 2017 after joining Grant Thornton that January. Serafin started his career in industry, working for companies including Novartis, Roche, and Fresenius Medical Care before transitioning to technology and leading the development of SAP’s Life Sciences solution and serving as its life sciences solutions leader.

Before joining Grant Thornton, Serafin was Deloitte & Touche LLP’s healthcare and life sciences regulatory practice leader. Over his more than 30-year career, he has also served clients in other industries including aerospace, automotive, chemical, consumer products and manufacturing. Serafin is also a strategic advisor to the Food & Drug Administration and has worked with various international regulatory authorities across the United Kingdom and Europe, South America and Asia.

Serafin received a master’s degree in technology management and a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology.
