DLA Piper is pleased to announce that Nancy Victory, co-chair of the firm's global Telecom practice, and Mark Muedeking, a partner in the Employment practice, have been selected as 2019 Trailblazers by National Law Journal.

Victory was named to the 2019 Intellectual Property Trailblazers list. The National Law Journal recognized her vast experience at the forefront of regulation of the telecom industry and her role in working to secure regulatory approval of groundbreaking transactions, including currently T-Mobile's merger with Sprint.

Victory has extensive experience in the full range of communications policy and transactional issues affecting telephone and wireless providers, satellite operators, submarine cable operators, equipment manufacturers, new technology companies and their investors. She is particularly well-known for her broad transactional experience, having taken a lead role in securing Federal Communications Commission approval for transactions ranging from small license transfers to the largest communications mergers of the last two decades. She is also sought out for her work on FCC enforcement matters and non-US ownership issues. In recent years, she has increasingly assisted clients in understanding the regulatory implications and business implications of new technologies and services, including connected car and IoT products and services.

Muedeking was named a 2019 Employment Trailblazer. The publication highlighted his successful defense of New York University in two-related class action suits alleging ERISA violations associated with retirement plan offerings, in which he secured a victory following a two-week bench trial in the first suit and a dismissal of the second.

Muedeking regularly represents publicly traded and private companies, boards of directors, executives, plans, plan sponsors and fiduciaries in a broad range of employee benefits and executive compensation matters. He advises clients on the development and operation of benefit plans and executive compensation arrangements, including compliance with applicable tax, securities, corporate and governance rules.
