DLA Piper is pleased to announce that it has received the 2019 National Public Service Award from the American Bar Association's Business Law Section. The award recognizes the firm's "extraordinary commitment to pro bono service," demonstrated by the "broad and creative efforts" of its lawyers to use their legal skills to help their communities.

DLA Piper was recognized for its efforts to make an impact in the area of hunger relief by providing pro bono legal counsel to food banks and nonprofits across the country and throughout the world, as well as for its work assisting small businesses and micro-entrepreneurs and increasing financial inclusion outside the United States.

"We are honored to be recognized by the ABA Business Law Section for the support that our lawyers provide to the nonprofit and small business communities," said Anne Geraghty Helms, the firm's pro bono counsel. "Their dedication and hours of pro bono work enable these organizations to focus on addressing some of society's most pressing problems, and we look forward to continuing to collaborate with them."

The firm received the award at the ABA Business Law Section's spring meeting on March 29 in Vancouver.
