DLA Piper and American International Group, Inc. (AIG) are pleased to announce that they were recently honored by the City Bar Justice Center, which works to increase access to justice for low-income and disadvantaged New Yorkers, for their sustained pro bono work in New York.
DLA Piper’s and AIG’s joint involvement with the organization has included working with immigrants, assisting veterans, advising micro-entrepreneurs, representing clients with cancer who are seeking advance directive assistance, and staffing a legal hotline.
DLA Piper and AIG have worked together on several pro bono projects, including preparing and publishing a report on the statutory compensation options available to human trafficking survivors in 20 countries around the world, teaming with the City Bar Justice Center on disability benefit cases, and assisting local entrepreneurs with their legal issues.
