Dentons, the world’s largest law firm, today announces that they are hosting Shreya Santhanam, a 1L Leadership Council Legal Diversity (LCLD) scholar for summer 2019. Organized by LCLD, the 1L Scholars Program offers diverse, first-year law students the opportunity to work with attorneys and provides them a unique professional development program by pairing them with LCLD member law firms and corporations for a once-in-a-lifetime summer associate experience. Santhanam will spend the first four weeks of the program with Dentons, and an additional four weeks with the legal team at BASF.

Santhanam was selected based on her background in science and involvement in campus groups focused on science, technology and law. A student at the University of California, Berkeley, she is the symposium team director of the Asian American Law Journal, on the articles team of the Berkeley Law and Technology Journal, and part of the Space Law Society, Womxn of Color Collective and Women in Tech Law. Santhanam earned her B.S., with honors, from the University of Illinois where she was president of the Engineering Council and a collegiate representative of the Society of Women Engineers.
