DLA Piper is pleased to announce that Boston-based associate Thanos Matthai has been selected by the American Bar Association for a 2019 On The Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyers Award.The On The Rise program recognizes ABA young lawyer members from across the country who exemplify a broad range of high achievement, innovation, vision, leadership, and legal and community service.
An ABA selection committee comprised of attorneys from various practicing settings acknowledged Matthai for his leadership as co-chair of "the Greater Boston Legal Services Associates Drive, a fundraising drive supporting domestic violence-related legal work at Greater Boston Legal Services that targets associates of Boston law firms" and also because Matthai "helps run a monthly limited-assistance representation housing law clinic in conjunction with Greater Boston Legal Services assisting low-income tenants facing evictions in preparing pleadings and responses."
Thanos Matthai focuses his practice on commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, financing and leasing. His experience includes representing buyers and sellers of office properties, multifamily properties, industrial properties, shopping centers and mixed use projects and representing institutional investors and developer partners in joint venture transactions. Matthai also represents borrowers in primary and secondary financing for all assets types and represents landlords in leasing office, retail and industrial spaces.
