Louis Lehot, co-managing partner of DLA Piper's Silicon Valley office and co-chair of the firm's Emerging Growth and Venture Capital practice, and David Priebe, a Litigation partner in the Silicon Valley office, recently spoke at Stanford Law School's 25th Annual Directors' College, an executive education program for directors and senior executives of publicly traded firms.

Directors' College gives participants the chance to engage with leading CEOs, directors, regulators, jurists and scholars on a rigorous and balanced examination of a broad range of issues that confront modern boards, including crisis anticipation and management, shareholder engagement, compensation strategy, board evaluation and refreshment, and emerging challenges including artificial intelligence and the politicization of the corporation.

At this year's event, held from June 23-25, Lehot spoke on a panel focused on tariffs, trade wars, and foreign investment in the US, and the impact of these issues on boards and management teams. Along with fellow panelists, he examined the challenges companies and investors will face in navigating the evolving regulatory framework and mitigating risk. Priebe presented new practical guides about private securities and corporate governance litigation while speaking on a panel that looked at strategies companies and their directors can use to reduce the risks of liability in class action and shareholder derivative cases.
