Rubano has extensive experience advising clients worldwide on matters related to sports, media and entertainment, including buyers, sellers and sports franchises in the National Football League, National Basketball Association, Major League Baseball, Major League Soccer, United Soccer League, North American Soccer League and various European football leagues. Among his representative transactions, Rubano led the DLA Piper team that represented Tilman J. Fertitta in his acquisition of the Houston Rockets NBA franchise, including the operating rights to the Toyota Center Arena, for US$2.2 billion, a record purchase price for an NBA franchise.
