Isabelle Ord
DLA Piper is pleased to announce that Isabelle Ord, co-chair of the firm's Class Action Litigation practice and co-leader of the LIBOR Transition practice, has received the Franzel Award from the Western Bankers Association.
Ord received the award, which recognizes an outside counsel for outstanding and sustained support of the banking industry, at the organization's Bank Counsel Seminar on October 11. With more than 200 years of combined experience serving banks, the Western Bankers Association is one of the largest banking trade associations and regional educational organizations in the United States.
Ord is a trial lawyer who resolves complex and high-stakes disputes for national and international businesses and financial institutions. Her experience includes defending class actions and other complex business disputes involving unfair competition, false advertising, the Consumer Legal Remedies Act (Civil Code 1750), fraud, breaches of fiduciary duty, Ponzi scheme and investment fraud, and lender liability. She also prosecutes claims for financial institutions and businesses, including credit recovery, loan participation and fraud claims.
Ord has a deep and long-standing commitment to leadership in the banking and financial services sector of the legal industry. She is a former chair of the California State Bar's Financial Institutions Committee, a past president of the San Francisco Bank Attorneys Association, and currently serves as vice-chair of the State Laws Sub-Committee of the ABA Banking Law Committee.
