DLA Piper Named to Global Investigation Review’s List of Leading Investigations Practices

10/29/19

DLA Piper has been named in Global Investigations Review's annual list of the 30 top investigations practices worldwide, reflecting its reputation as one of the top global law firms with broad experience in complex investigations.

The GIR 30 highlights law firms that have earned the trust of clients in the jurisdictions in which they operate. The list is based on criteria including matters handled in the past two years, the firm’s global spread, number of partners, client lists and a breakdown of the jurisdictions partners visited for investigations work.

DLA Piper was also recognized at the GIR Awards in the category of “Most important development in the practice or law of international investigations of the past year.” The firm was honored for its work on technology company Cognizant Technology Solutions’ resolution with the Department of Justice over alleged bribery in India. The DOJ declined to prosecute Cognizant for alleged violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, instead issuing a declination letter. DLA Piper partners Karl Buch and Gray Stratton represented the Audit Committee of Cognizant.

DLA Piper's Global Investigations team provides guidance on a wide array of criminal, regulatory and crisis scenarios, for both internal and government-directed investigations. The multidisciplinary and cross-border team counsels clients on audit inquiries, bribery and corruption, fraud, money laundering, market abuse, tax evasion, product liability, labor law issues, sanctions breaches and anti-competitive behavior.
