DLA Piper advised Aumni, Inc., a software-as-a-service (SaaS) company developing a robotic process automation and data analytics platform for private capital investors, in a US$10 million Series A funding round led by SVB Financial Group, the parent company of Silicon Valley Bank.
The round also included participation from existing investors Moneta Ventures, Next Frontier Capital and Quiet Ventures, who together previously led Aumni's US$3.7 million Series Seed round. New investors include Kickstart Seed Fund, Blackhorn Ventures, Prelude and Service Provider Capital.
“We are thankful for the opportunity to work with Tony Lewis and our friend and former colleague Kelsey Chase,” said DLA Piper partner Michael Brown, who led the firm’s deal team. “After securing this financing and adding these strategic and financial partners, Aumni is now even better positioned as it drives value for the private capital markets.”
“Inspired by my experiences as a venture capital lawyer, we created Aumni to address common investor pain points and permanently change the landscape of the private capital markets ecosystem. We're committed to building amazing technologies that automate processes and bring powerful data analytics to the market," said Kelsey Chase, Aumni co-founder and former DLA Piper Corporate associate. “Mike Brown is also a close friend and mentor, so it was especially memorable to work with the DLA Piper team to close our Series A financing.”
Along with Brown, the DLA Piper team included associates Andrew Booth and Kathryn Fortin (all from San Diego).
