DLA Piper represented Green Courte Partners, LLC (Green Courte), a Chicago-based private equity real estate investment firm, and its affiliates in the acquisition and financing of a portfolio of four manufactured housing communities located in the greater Rochester, New York, area. The four communities add a total of 1,213 sites to Green Courte’s land-lease portfolio, bringing its total number of properties to 15, with over 5,600 sites in five states.

Green Courte plans to invest capital in new home inventory, amenities and aesthetic and infrastructure improvements. Green Courte will also implement value-add initiatives such as employing a rental home and sales operation led by its in-house, national land-lease community management platform.

“We were pleased to assist Green Courte with this transaction, and we thank the Green Courte team for continuing to place its trust in us as Green Courte expands its extensive manufactured housing portfolio,” said Brian Cohen, the DLA Piper partner who led the firm’s acquisition team.

The firm’s financing team was led by Merle Cowin. In addition to Cohen and Cowin (both of Chicago), the DLA Piper team representing Green Courte consisted primarily of partner David Sickle and associate Nicholas Beard (both of Chicago).
