Williams was one of ten lawyers to receive the award, which honors attorneys who achieved impressive results in 2019 and demonstrated clear leadership skills that helped them achieve those results. The recognition is part of the publication's annual Georgia Legal Awards highlighting professional excellence.

Williams, who is also a member of DLA Piper's US Private Equity Group Steering Committee, represents private equity and corporate buyers and sellers in mergers and acquisitions, securities and general corporate matters. He has also counseled multiple clients in structuring entities to be certified as minority business enterprises.
