Andrew A. Kingman

DLA Piper is pleased to announce that Andrew Kingman, a senior managing attorney in the firm’s Intellectual Property and Technology practice, has been named to the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly’s list of Up and Coming Lawyers. The editors select attorneys who have been members of the bar for 10 years or less, and who have “already distinguished themselves.”

The publication highlighted Kingman’s work as general counsel to the State Privacy and Security Coalition, whose members include 30 of the largest technology, media, telecom, retail and online security companies in the world, and identified him as “a key player in the debate over state privacy legislation.” He has drafted and contributed to numerous state laws - including Nevada’s landmark law allowing residents to opt out of the sale of their information to other entities - concerning data privacy, biometrics, data breach notification, voice recognition and geolocation information.

Based in the firm’s Boston office, Kingman counsels clients on state privacy and cybersecurity laws, regulations, and compliance. As counsel to the State Privacy and Security Coalition, he represents leading technology, media and retail companies as a legislative strategist and advocate on cybersecurity and privacy issues at the forefront of the policy arena in all 50 states.
