Dentons Adds Lynn P. Harrison III

9/4/20

Dentons, the world’s largest law firm, announces today the strengthening of its Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy (RIB) practice with the addition of Lynn P. Harrison III. Harrison, who focuses his practice on international and cross-border insolvencies, will be resident in the Firm’s New York Midtown office.

With more than 30 years of experience in workouts, reorganizations and liquidations on behalf of debtors, creditors, liquidators and trustees, Harrison’s practice is largely international, serving global clients with inbound or cross-border bankruptcy needs. Among his previous transactions, he represented the Italian Extraordinary Administrator of Parmalat S.p.A., the multinational dairy and food conglomerate, in restructuring several of the company’s subsidiaries in the United States and Latin America.

“Lynn’s recognized experience in both Chapter 11 and Chapter 15 is an excellent addition for our US and global clients, and his international client base will benefit from our team’s tremendous depth and reach,” said Dentons US CEO Mike McNamara.

Harrison’s clients have included foreign and domestic corporations, both public and private; financial institutions; underwriters; and governmental creditors. He advises them on reorganizations, ancillary proceedings, structured financings, distressed trades and acquisitions. Notably, at his former firm Harrison led the insolvency aspects of the representation of Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. and its affiliates, in one of the largest and most complex Chapter 11 cases ever filed.

In addition to his practice, Harrison is a member of the invitation-only International Insolvency Institute. He is a frequent lecturer and prolific writer on international and domestic insolvency issues and has spoken throughout the US, Europe, Latin America, Africa and Asia. In 2019, he was invited to participate in the Second Circuit Judicial Conference, where he served on a panel among US bankruptcy judges. Harrison earned his JD from New York University of Law and his BA from Morehouse College.
