DLA Piper (Canada) LLP is pleased to announce that Katrina Edgerton-McGhan from the firm's Calgary office has been named a 2020 Lexpert Rising Star.
Katrina has built a prominent commercial litigation practice focussing in high dollar value or high complexity courtroom or regulatory legal disputes and has been at the forefront of significant decisions in a number of important cases recently. To date, Katrina has over 15 precedent setting decisions in her career and many other unpublished decisions.
A prolific and industrious supporter of diversity and equity initiatives in the business and legal professions, among other appointments, Katrina is Board Chair of the non-profit Women + Power Electricity Society which supports the advancement of women in the electricity industry, she is the Director of Communications for Help with Debt (Alberta), which provides free and fair information and legal advice for Albertans facing foreclosure and bankruptcy in the pandemic, and is a Law Society of Alberta appointee to the Law Society’s Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Committee.
