Special Counsel Emma Manohar from DLA Piper's Wellington office received an Excellence Award for Young Private Practice Lawyer of the Year (35 or under) at last night's 2020 New Zealand Law Awards, recognising the quantity, quality, importance, and innovativeness of her recent work. The award also acknowledges her to dedication to Pro Bono, Diversity and Inclusion and her work towards empowering women in the legal profession.

"Emma Manohar provides the backbone to the Wellington resource management team", said Stephen Quinn, Partner at DLA Piper. "Her interpersonal skills and calm and competent dealings with staff, clients and stakeholders have propelled her to become a recognised senior practitioner."

The Excellence Awards comes at the end of a significant year for Emma, who was recognised as a Rising Star in the 2020 Legal 500 Asia Pacific rankings and promoted to Special Counsel in July.
