Edward V. Marshall
Dentons, the world’s largest law firm, today announces that Edward V. Marshall has joined the Firm as global head of Family Office and High Net Worth (HNW) group. The group includes 120 lawyers and professionals on six continents advocating for the interests of family offices and HNW individuals across the globe.
In this new leadership role with Dentons, Marshall will direct the Firm’s strategy and implementation in further building an innovative program of insights, advice and access to better service the family office and HNW clients. Marshall joins Dentons as a principal and will be based in New York. His new leadership role will report to Firm leadership, and Marshall will collaborate closely with Family Office and HNW group global co-chairs Brian Raftery and Rick Ross.

Prior to joining Dentons, Marshall was a managing director at Boston Private, helping lead its family office practice and was responsible for leading business development and account management of ultra high net worth and family office relationships. Prior to Boston Private, Marshall was a director in the Global Family Office group at Citi Private Bank where he led business development and program management for the North American team. Prior to joining Citi Private Bank, Marshall was a member of the UHNW and Family Office practice at Credit Suisse and managed client relationships as a relationship manager. He joined Credit Suisse from Booz Allen Hamilton where he was a member of their Organization and Strategy practice. Marshall began his career in the public sector working for the federal government in the United States and abroad.

Marshall earned his MBA from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business and a B.S. in human biology from Michigan State University. He is also a guest lecturer on family office and wealth management at New York University’s Stern School of Business.

Marshall is member of the editorial board of the Family Wealth Report. He is also a core member and senior advisor to the UHNW Institute, a think tank organization set up to support family offices and UHNWIs by promoting best practices, professional development, and positive change in the wealth management industry.
Marshall is a member of the board of directors for Americas Warrior Partnership, a non-profit that acts as a force multiplier for veteran service organizations across the US, supports corporations to serve and retain veterans, and conducts groundbreaking research on the factors and potential causes behind veteran suicide. Previously Marshall was a board member and treasurer at Nonprofit Enterprise at Work, a non-profit capacity building center that improves the impact and performance of fellow nonprofits by working alongside leaders to create high-quality strategic solutions that advance their missions in their communities.
