Getty Images Appoints Andrew Hamilton in Newly Created Executive Data and Insights Role

7/13/16

Andrew Hamilton is joining Getty Images, a world leader in visual communication, in the newly created role of SVP of Data and Insights – a pioneering position which sits on the company’s Executive Committee. Based in New York and reporting to Getty Images CEO Dawn Airey, Andrew’s appointment marks the next step in Getty Images’ strategy to extend its core B2B licensing business and establish new revenue streams in the consumer market.

Andrew will launch and lead the company’s expansive data strategy and joins from dunnhumby, a world leader in customer science.

Given that 97% of visitors to the Getty Images website are consumers browsing and admiring imagery, Andrew will be responsible for developing and implementing a data strategy that will enable Getty Images to apply a better understanding of consumer behavior across the business. In addition, he will also work on developing new commercial opportunities.

Andrew joins Getty Images from his role as Global Head of Strategy and Planning at customer science and data consultancy, dunnhumby. Prior to joining dunnhumby, Andrew held senior management consulting roles at Accenture in London, UK and Booz Allen Hamilton in the US. An accountant early in his career, Hamilton was later a Captain in the United States Marine Corps specializing in information systems and security.

This hire comes at the heels of a series of recent appointments to Getty Images’ Executive Committee including the launch of a new Innovation Group spearheaded by Steve Heck, Chief Innovation Officer, and the introduction of the Getty Images Virtual Reality Group.
