Following her seventh leadership appointment to the Getty Images Executive Committee, CEO Dawn Airey elevates Getty Images SVPs Tara Comonte and Craig Peters to new EVP roles

Dawn Airey, Chief Executive Officer of the world’s leading visual communication company Getty Images, today announced the promotion of two senior officers, Tara Comonte and Craig Peters, to the role of Executive Vice President (EVP).

Today’s announcement follows Dawn’s recent appointment of seven senior officers to Getty Images’ Executive Committee, as the company prepares to capture the consumer market and further expand and strengthen its core B2B content licensing business.

Tara Comonte, currently Senior Vice President (SVP) and Chief Financial Officer, steps into the new role of EVP and Chief Financial and Business Affairs Officer. In addition to overseeing the company’s global Finance, Enterprise Reporting & Analytics and Investor Relations functions, Tara now also assumes leadership of the development of Technology Applications and Platforms, as well as Real Estate and Facilities.

Craig Peters, currently SVP of Business Development, Content and Product, is taking on the new position of EVP and Chief Operating Officer. In addition to his current role managing global strategic partnerships, executing investments, leading acquisitions and pursuing new business opportunities,Craig will now also oversee Technology Development.

Tara and Craig’s promotions to EVP follow a series of recent appointments to Getty Images’ Executive Committee as the company drives forward its strategy for growth. In 2016 alone, Getty Images announced a new Innovation Group spearheaded by Steve Heck, Chief Innovation

Officer; appointed Jon Miller and Nate Gandert to the roles of Chief Information and Technology officers respectively; announced a new Chief Human Resources Officer, Leander LeSure, last week and a new SVP of Communications Jennifer Ferguson earlier this week; and created a further two executive positions, announcingAndrew Hamilton as the SVP of Data & Insights and Steve Grimes as the company’s new Managing Editor & SVP of Consumer Media. In addition, last month Getty Images also appointed Lia Buffa de Feo to the new role of Vice President and General Manager for the company’s consumer print business Photos.com.

A native of Scotland, Tara joined Getty Images in 2013 after 15 years in international operational and financial leadership roles within the advertising industry. She joined from McCann Worldgroup, the world’s largest marketing communications business, where she was Global CFO, and was previously a founding member of IPG Mediabrands, the award-winning media agency holding group within the Interpublic Group. In 2012, Tara was selected by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader and received the Industry Innovator/Quantum Leap Award from Advertising Women of New York. She is a Crain’s New York Business “40 Under 40” honoree, an Advertising Age “Woman to Watch” and was the first CFO inducted into the American Advertising Federation Hall of Achievement. Tara lives in Brooklyn, New York.

Prior to WireImage, he served key roles in media and technology including business development for FOX Sports Interactive and new media strategy and business development for the PGA Tour, where he was awarded an Emmy for Outstanding Achievement in Advanced Media Technology for the Enhancement of Original Television Content. Craig also previously held positions with Homestead.com (acquired by Intuit), A. T. Kearney and Eastman Kodak Company. Craig lives in Brooklyn, New York.
