9/5/18

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Axiom, the leading global alternative legal services provider, announced today two strategic hires to its leadership team. Cathy Johnson joins Axiom as Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Lisa Young joins as General Counsel (GC). As Axiom continues to significantly grow and scale its business, Johnson and Young will play critical roles in furthering Axiom’s mission to transform the legal industry through talent and technology.

“It’s been fantastic watching these two high-powered women take their seats at the table. They bring technical depth in their roles and the leadership capacity to help us drive through our next phase of evolution and beyond,” said Elena Donio, CEO of Axiom. “Cathy is a true technologist and a seasoned leader, whose background and experience will play a key role in shaping Axiom’s corporate technology vision and architecture; where our people and clients meet our solutions. And, as our new General Counsel, Lisa brings to Axiom a wealth of experience critical to supporting a company of Axiom’s breadth, complexity, and growing scale.”

In her new role as CIO, Johnson will be responsible for Axiom’s global IT function, overseeing IT integration and Axiom’s overall infrastructure evolution. Johnson joins Axiom from Providence St. Joseph Health, where she was most recently SVP of Information Services. She brings to Axiom extensive experience managing the data and systems, which underpin sophisticated, global organizations as well as expertise in M&A integration and IT security. Johnson will be based in Axiom’s growing Seattle office.

Said Johnson, “I’m thrilled to join Axiom at such an exciting time in the evolution of the industry. I look forward to helping develop transformative technical strategies and innovative digital solutions that support continued industry disruption and help to achieve ambitious business goals.”

Young comes to Axiom from Enova, where she served as General Counsel. There, she led a legal department that supported Enova’s significant growth trajectory, which included operating as a public company in a regulated industry. Prior to her time at Enova, Young served for six years as Assistant General Counsel at JPMorgan Chase. Young will be based in Chicago.

Said Young, “As a lawyer, a private practice alum, and a former in-house client of Axiom, I have long admired Axiom’s smart, strategic approach to revolutionizing the legal services industry. Being part of a company that is disrupting the status quo is exciting, and I’m thrilled to be joining the team as General Counsel. Axiom has proven its unique ability to help legal departments manage through change and operate more efficiently, and I look forward to using my legal expertise, and experience in-seat as a client, to support the growth and evolution of the company going forward.”
