Mr. Bassin, an experienced investment professional, will play an integral role in expanding Cowen’s reach into the alternative investor space while working with prime brokerage and outsourced trading clients on their capital raising efforts.

Previously, Mr. Bassin was a member of the capital introduction team at Wells Fargo Securities, where he worked closely with both hedge fund managers and investors, and forged numerous institutional investor relationships, particularly in the Endowment and Foundation space. Mr. Bassin also previously worked in prime brokerage and capital introduction at Lehman Brothers and UBS Securities, and served in various investment/research and asset raising capacities at several firms, including Auda Hedge, The Museum of Modern Art Endowment, and UBP Asset Management. For the past 13 years, Mr. Bassin has been an Adjunct Professor of Financial Management at New York University where he teaches a hedge fund class. Mr. Bassin earned an MBA from Columbia Business School, a JD from Emory University School of Law, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Dartmouth College, all with honors.
