Appraisers Association of America Appoints Four New Board Members

The Appraisers Association of America is pleased to announce the election of four new board members of its Board of Directors. Joining the Board of Directors are Sebastian Clark, Director of Estate Services and a specialist at Rago Arts and Auction Center, Lambertville, New Jersey; Kristen Gary, President, Kristin Gary Fine Art, New York, NY; Susan Hunter, Associate Director of Appraisals, Winston Art Group New York, NY; Lori Spector, President, Lori Spector Fine Art, Inc., New York andZurich. They will serve a three-year term beginning on July 1, 2016. "Their level of connoisseurship and expertise is an invaluable resource to our members and the organization," said Linda Selvin, Executive Director.

The Appraisers Association of America was established in 1949 and is the premier association of personal property appraisers who focus on fine and decorative arts. With a membership of over 700 independent appraisers in 100 different areas of specialization, the Appraisers Association's roster of well-established professionals has the widest range of experience and expertise in their respective fields. Their members work with private and corporate art collections as well as attorneys, accountants, museums, educational institutions, trusts, brokers and insurance carriers to reflect the highest industry standards. All members are required to be certified according to the professional standards, known in the field as USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice). Seasoned professionals, members serve public and private collectors alike to deliver independent, ethical, and objective valuations for insurance, estate tax, charitable donation, equitable distribution, and liquidation purposes.
