Security Mutual Life announced today that it is adding expanded functionality to its cloud based retirement plan proposal platform. The platform, which was developed by Plan Gen, Inc., for Security Mutual, was introduced last October as a defined benefit plan platform accommodating traditional defined benefit and section 412(e)(3) plans. The new expanded platform can also accommodate defined contribution plans – from simple 401k designs to complicated 401k – profit sharing combination designs.
The expanded platform includes a dedicated website that allows insurance advisors to request custom plan designs 24/7 and to access the designs (existing plans and pending plans) at any time and from anyplace that has internet service. Insurance advisors can also access custom marketing materials, from PowerPoint presentations to executive summaries.
In addition, the Security Mutual platform provides insurance advisors with their own "retirement planning"- microsites that include space for a bio, photo, video, links to the agent's social media pages and a "request for proposal" function. This dedicated webpage can enhance the insurance advisor's online visibility, especially in a retirement plan context.
George Kozol, a marketing executive with Security Mutual noted that independent advisors who are contracted with Security Mutual have access to complimentary plan proposals and to an affiliated plan administration company, Security Administrators, Inc. (SAI).
Dane Mitchell, president of SAI, commented that the tables and charts in the proposals make it easier for an employer to decide which plan type best suits his or new needs. Mitchell also observed that Security Mutual's retirement proposal platform makes the plan installation process faster and easier for all parties.
