Doot was chosen for his extensive experiences working with the New England Power Pool and all players in the wholesale power business—transmitters, developers and generators, consumers, investors and lenders--as they navigate changes in the industry.

“I’ve followed NEPOOL through every step of its transformation for the last 30 years, including the design of the wholesale power markets and changes in the way transmission is handled in New England and generally,” Doot said in an article written by The National Law Journal.

David Doot is a partner and chair of Day Pitney’s Energy and Utilities industry group. He counsels businesses around the country on wholesale and retail arrangements for the purchase and sale of electricity and advocates on their behalf before federal and state energy regulators.
