Selected out of hundreds of candidates, nine companies were immersed in a 12-week intensive mentoring accelerator program at BoomStartUp headquarters in Salt Lake City. Cleverywhere, along with the cohort of companies, each received $20,000 in seed money, $100,000 worth of business services in addition to the daily one-on-one mentoring from seasoned business leaders to ready their companies and attract new funding. Cleverywhere is initially offering ThemePark as a browser-based mobile-ready application. ThemePark is an interactive challenge game in a charming, but impactful pixel-style that enables students to create an avatar to fight monsters, earn a pet, and rebuild an old, dilapidated theme park to its original glory to win the game. ThemePark, as a school-based teaching system, enables teachers to track student and classroom progress using carefully crafted analytics to provide pinpoint analysis of student curriculum understanding. Parents have access to student progress analysis as well so they can support the program. All games include standards-aligned content. During the initial testing of the game, students and teachers see an incredible 20 percent improvement in test scores.
