Mirador Real Estate, a full-service residential brokerage focusing on owner and developer representation in Manhattan, announces today it its newest office location at 16 East 12th Street-- a property they purchased last year which was a former Bellmarc Realty location – will open today.
The 1900 sq. ft. bi-level store front space has undergone a gut renovation in line with Mirador’s established style providing for an open, energetic and vibrant forum in which our brokers can collaborate. Mirador’s in-house interior designer, Logan Yost, explains, “Areas of the space were retiled and completely redesigned. The basement was also completely redone to remove a drop ceiling and leave existing pipes and ducts exposed for a more industrial look. This floor will house the firm’s lounge area, complete with a wet-bar.”
“Because we had a demand for more seller side representation, we decided to roll out an environment where we can cater to our sellers and buyers,” explains Karla Saladino, co-founder, Mirador Real Estate. “We had explosive growth these last two years, but I held back on taking on many larger sale side rep projects until we were ready. We are now excited about going full-steam ahead in the sales arena.”
Saladino also says the firm is making some strategic hires of experienced agents in New York City for this space, as well as intermingling some of its current staff. Mirador will be hiring about 10 more experienced agents and ultimately house up to 30 agents in the newest office.
The firm’s latest new hire, Leslie Zemnick, Director of Operations, will focus on internal operations, agent development, external account management, strategic partnerships and territory expansion to projects they have pending in other markets. Zemnick comes to Mirador from Compass where she was managing corporate relocation and partnerships as well as agent development.
Mirador Real Estate quietly launched in Spring of 2013 with an office located at 60 W. 23rd Street housing eight agents. It was co-created by Karla Saladino, a 12-year NYC real estate veteran who previously founded her own real estate brokerage nine years ago called SDB, which later rolled into Mark David, where Saladino continued on as Manager of Leasing and Director of Hiring.
A year after inception, the firm opened its second office—a storefront in Union Square—located at 100 E 13th Street, and most recently announced the opening of its fourth office on the Upper West Side earlier this year.
The firm now has over 27 experienced agents in four offices and continues to grow.
In total to date, Mirador Real Estate represents over a dozen developer portfolios in Manhattan and Brooklyn—equating to over 100 buildings and over 5,000 units. In addition to providing targeted rental management and marketing support, the firm also has a successful sales team, having closed record-breaking price per sq. ft. deals with two units at 15 W 12th Street and three at 112 West 72nd Street.
