BDO USA, LLP, one of the nation’s leading accounting and consulting organizations, today announced that Joe Pacello has joined the firm as a Tax Partner in the Asset Management Practice.

Joe has more than 20 years of experience in the Asset Management industry and his capabilities extend from tax compliance, to providing tax advice with respect to complex financial products, to tax structuring for fund formations and other complex transactions.  Joe joins BDO from KPMG where he was a partner in the hedge fund tax practice.  

Further to his significant expertise, Joe is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, and is the author of a treatise entitled "Tax Compliance and Reporting for Hedge Funds and Their Investors", published by Thomson Reuters in 2015.  In addition, Joe has developed and taught a graduate course at Fairleigh Dickinson University on the taxation of financial products.

Joe, who resides on Staten Island, earned his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Seton Hall University, a Juris Doctor degree from New York Law School and a Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) in taxation from Temple University School of Law.  He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Managed Funds Association (MFA) and the Wall Street Tax Association (WSTA).
