BlueMountain Capital Management, LLC a private absolute return investment firm with over $21.5 billion in assets under management, today announced the hiring of Jon Weber as Head of Portfolio Company Management to lead the firm’s portfolio company operations.
Mr. Weber will work closely with and advise the management and boards of BlueMountain portfolio companies and will be responsible for leading the operational oversight, governance and value enhancement of those investments. He will work closely with portfolio managers engaged in BlueMountain’s private capital & opportunistic investments effort. Mr. Weber will report to BlueMountain CEO & Co-CIO Andrew Feldstein and Co-CIO Derek Smith.

Prior to joining BlueMountain, Mr. Weber headed similar efforts at Anchorage Capital Group, Goldman Sachs Special Situations Group, and Icahn Enterprises. Over the past 15 years, he has served as a board chair, member, senior executive, or board level advisor for dozens of companies in a broad range of industries. Previously, he was an investment banker at JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Morgan Stanley.
Earlier in his career, he also worked as an attorney for Weil, Gotshal & Manges. He is a Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a board member of Chai Lifeline, an organization dedicated to meeting the needs of seriously ill children. Jon earned a J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School, and a B.S. and M.B.A., magna cum laude, from Babson College.
