Great Oaks-backed Minibar Delivery Raises $5M

Minibar Delivery (www.minibardelivery.com), the leading female-founded on-demand alcohol delivery service, announced that it has raised $5 Million in funding, bringing its total investment capital to $6.8M.

Corigin Ventures led the round with participation from new investors LaunchCapital and RiverPark Ventures, as well as existing investors, including Female Founders Fund, Great Oaks Venture Capital, and Winklevoss Capital.

The funding will be used to accelerate Minibar Delivery’s entry into new regions and new marketplaces, and further develop its footprint in its existing markets.

“It’s a testament to Lara and Lindsey’s strategic vision that has enabled them to grow rapidly while being capital efficient and achieving profitability at an early stage,” said David Goldberg, General Partner, Corigin Ventures. “Their methodical approach to disrupting the antiquated spirits industry, has created a service that’s become a must-have for customers, liquor partners and brands alike. This new round of capital will allow them to accelerate new growth initiatives, enter into new markets and marketplaces, and enhance existing features for their customers.”

The increase in capital comes on the heels of exponential year over year growth – 103% from 2015 to 2016 alone. The company has established a loyal and active customer base: the majority of Minibar Delivery’s customers are frequent, repeat buyers who report industry-leading levels of customer satisfaction.

“We founded Minibar Delivery because we knew there had to be a better, more convenient way to shop for alcohol,” said Lindsey Andrews, co-CEO and co-Founder of Minibar Delivery. “The feedback we have received from customers and brands has been phenomenal and we are excited to continue our work. Our goal is to provide the best shopping and customer experience for our consumers, so we’ll be launching a variety of new services to further improve the experience and provide exciting new shopping options for our customers. That includes opening in new markets and entering new marketplaces.”

Minibar Delivery partners with liquor stores in 35 markets across the country, offering on-demand delivery of wine, spirits, beer and even bartenders. Since 2014, the company has achieved significant growth milestones, acquiring rival Booze Carriage in 2015, launching the first of its kind on-demand bartender service, and achieving profitability at the seed funding stage.

How Minibar Delivery works:

Consumers can shop online at www.minibardelivery.com or open the mobile app on their iPhone or Android, enter their address, add items to a virtual cart, check out, and their order will be on its way to their door from the local store partner. Minibar Delivery also provides tasting notes, pairing recommendations, cocktail recipes, gift delivery, and is the only provider to offer a subscription service; the “Auto Refill” option allows users to arrange for items within an order to be delivered at a selected interval of 1,2,3, or 4 weeks.
