Hello Alfred and KRE Group Launch In-Home Hospitality Platform

12/18/17

With the partnership Alfred expands to New Jersey, and Journal Squared becomes the first building in the state to offer the service

App-based service Hello Alfred and real estate developer and management company KRE Group today announced a partnership in the New Jersey market. The service will be available across the developer’s portfolio of 2,200 residential units in Jersey City, giving KRE Group the exclusive rights to the service in the area for one year. Journal Squared, the soaring luxury rental tower in the historic Journal Square neighborhood, will be the first residential development in the state to offer Hello Alfred.

The Hello Alfred platform combines sophisticated software with highly trained “Alfred” Home Managers to handle an extensive suite of services that residents control via a mobile app. A dedicated Home Manager then visits the user’s apartment each week to complete the tasks, which can include home cleanings, errands and special requests, and learns to anticipate their needs over time.

“We’re very excited to offer the residents of Journal Squared the opportunity to experience Hello Alfred,” said Jonathan Kushner, President of KRE Group. “As a landlord, our focus is to improve tenant’s livelihoods with service, convenience, and community. This innovative, service-based amenity will support renters with routine tasks, freeing up more time to focus on the things they enjoy most, and to get out and explore their new neighborhood.”

“The way we live in cities is fundamentally changing. Service needs to be built into the home,” said Marcela Sapone, Co-Founder & CEO of Hello Alfred. “And it’s firms like KRE Group who are inspired to truly elevate the residential living experience that are ahead in the industry. The detail and care they put into Journal Squared is unique and we couldn’t think of a better partner to launch the New Jersey market with.”

Residents of Journal Squared can first enjoy Hello Alfred’s services through digital move-in coordination, where Home Managers will assist with sourcing movers’ quotes, arranging telecom services set-up, packing and unpacking, and more. Once settled in the building, residents can rely on Alfred’s digital hospitality platform for last-minute planning and errand assistance, or its daily in-home package delivery to lighten the burden of carrying boxes after a day’s work. For a premium membership, residents can receive a weekly Alfred visit, which includes apartment tidying, grocery shopping, laundry, dry cleaning, clothing/shoe repairs, prescription pick-ups, and shipping packages or outgoing mail.

Hello Alfred is the creation of Harvard Business School graduates Marcela Sapone and Jessica Beck, who established the business in 2014 to help manage household services and to-do items. Since then, Hello Alfred has radically changed how the modern consumer gets things done and now operates in Jersey City, New York, Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago and Washington D.C.

Since opening to residents earlier this year, the first of three Journal Squared towers is now more than 90 percent leased. Designed by Hollwich Kushner and Handel Architects, the 53-story tower rises to 563 feet, making it Journal Square’s tallest building to date, and the third-tallest building in Jersey City. The building features 538 apartments and more than 12,500 square feet of amenities, including an outdoor swimming pool and the neighborhood’s first residential “Sky Lounge,” a 53rd-floor observatory with dramatic panoramas of the Manhattan skyline. The development also offers direct access to the Journal Square Transportation Center, one of New Jersey’s major transit hubs.

KRE Group and Hello Alfred plan to launch operations in the developer’s other Jersey City properties, Grove Pointe, 225 Grand, 18 Park, and 485 Marin in the first quarter of 2018.

Journal Squared is developed by KRE Group and National Real Estate Advisors. The Marketing Directors is the exclusive leasing and marketing agent for the building. For additional information or to schedule an appointment, please contact the Journal Squared leasing office at www.journalsquared.com.
