Hoffmann Architects, an architecture and engineering firm specializing in the rehabilitation of building exteriors, is pleased to welcome a new design professional to the technical staff.

Amanda L. Miller, AIA joins Hoffmann Architects as Staff Architect, based in the firm’s New York City office. At the University of Notre Dame, where she earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree, Miller received accolades for leadership, service, and professional merit. While earning a Master in Design Studies at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, she was elected as her Class Marshal and served in leadership capacities with Student Forum and the African American Student Union. This fall, Miller went on to act as co-organizer of the Harvard University Graduate School of Design Black in Design 2017 Conference.

Along with advanced design software skills, Miller brings to her new position professional experience in commercial and institutional projects, as well as team collaboration and mentoring. As part of the Hoffmann Architects technical team, her work includes investigation, design development and detailing, and construction administration services for building enclosure projects in the New York metropolitan area. She lives in Astoria, New York.

Founded in 1977, Hoffmann Architects specializes in the rehabilitation of the building envelope. The firm’s work focuses on the exteriors of existing structures, diagnosing and resolving deterioration within facades, roofing systems, windows, waterproofing materials, plazas/terraces, parking garages, and historic and landmark structures. We provide consulting services for new building construction, as well as litigation and claim support. Our technical professionals investigate and correct damage resulting from time and weather, substandard or improper construction, design defects, material failures, poor workmanship, structural movement, and stress.
