GFP Real Estate Reports Over One Million SF Of Year-End 2017 Leasing Activity Throughout 10 MSF Portfolio

GFP Real Estate (GFP), a vertically integrated owner, operator, property manager and developer of commercial real estate, announced it signed approximately 1.1 millionsquare feet of leases throughout its portfolio in 2017. The announcement was made by co-CEOs Eric Gural and Brian Steinwurtzel.

Founded in 1952 by Aaron Gural, the company formally known as Newmark Holdings, has grown to own, along with its partners, almost 9 million square feet of commercial property in New York City, and a total of over 10 million square feet in the Tri-State region. The company’s portfolio includes such iconic properties as the Flatiron Building (175 Fifth Avenue), The Film Center Building (630 Ninth Avenue), 515 Madison Avenue, 1560 Broadway and 40 Worth Street.

GFP Real Estate serves as landlord to more than 2,700 tenants in its portfolio, manages 13.4 million square feet on behalf of itself and other property owners in the region, and has 80 full-time professionals on its team.GFP Real Estate also has a long tradition of supporting nonprofit organizations housing over 1,000 nonprofits in over 3 million square feet in New York City.

  • Omnicom Group’s 200,000-square-foot lease extension and Film Forum’s 10,500-square-foot lease renewal, both at 200 Varick Street.
  • Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects’ 11,107-square-foot renewal at 322 Eighth Avenue.
  • First Protocol’s 12,722-square-foot renewal at 630 Ninth Avenue, along with Mitchell Giurgola Architects, LLP’s expansion from 9,686 square feet to 10,409 square feet at the building.
  • Town Sports International’s 29,210-square-foot new lease commitment at 740 Broadway.
  • Animoto Inc.’s renewal of 15,180 square feet at 440 Lafayette Street.
  • Global Poverty Project’s 10,060-square-foot renewal at 594 Broadway.
  • Sportsrocket’s 12,355-square-foot renewal at 560 Broadway.
  • Urbahn Architects’ 14,000-square-foot renewal at 307 West 36th Street.
  • Taylor’s Inn’s 12,700-square-foot new lease at 505 Eighth Avenue.
