Industry Experts Examine Critical Issues Shaping the State’s Economic and Commercial Real Estate Landscape

NAIOP New Jersey, the commercial real estate development association, kicks off its “Building a Better NJ Series” with an Infrastructure & Logistics Update on Wednesday, February 21, at the Meadowlands Hilton. Registration and a networking breakfast will begin at 7:45 a.m., followed by the program at 8:30 a.m.

Infrastructure and logistics continue to be critical factors shaping New Jersey’s economic and real estate landscape. This program will take a close look at what is trending in logistics as well as address key topics including how resources in the replenished Transportation Trust Fund are being deployed; whether or not the Gateway project can move forward in the absence of federal funding; how the New Jersey Infrastructure Bank will carry out its new mission to fund local transportation infrastructure; what progress has been made on Port improvements and the Freight Rail Industrial Opportunity (FRIO) Corridors Program.

Anthony Attanasio, executive director of the Utility & Contractors Association of NJ, former NJ DOT assistant commissioner and one of Governor Phil Murphy’s chief transportation policy advisors, will deliver keynote remarks. Confirmed panelists include: Frank Scangarella, New Jersey Infrastructure Bank; Carmelo Garcia, City of Newark; Ken Spahn, Dewberry; John Atkins, Global Container Terminals; Lou Cooperhouse, New Jersey Food Processors Association; and Anne Strauss-Wieder, New Jersey Transportation Planning Authority. Additional speakers are being finalized.
