TheJeddah Tower, currently under construction, will be the first man-made structure to reach one kilometer in height. Conceived 20 years apart, the engineering logic and structural systems development for these projects are important chapters in the ongoing story of computer-based geometric and structural engineering analysis. The presentation will compare the two projects and focus on key technical challenges as well as the analytical tools usedto realize these groundbreaking designs.
