Asian-Inspired Restaurant to Open New Locations at Two of Fisher Brothers’ Signature Midtown Manhattan Office Towers

Newmark Knight Frank (NKF) today announced that it has successfully negotiated two leases for U.K.-based Asian-inspired chain restaurant Wagamama to open new locations at Fisher Brothers’ 1345 Avenue of the Americas (its new flagship location) and 605 Third Avenue, respectively. Jared Lack, a managing director with NKF, completed both transactions on behalf of Wagamama, while Eric Gelber, an executive vice president and Jordan Kaplan, an associate of CBRE represented Fisher Brothers along with Marc Packman and Clark Briffel from the in-house leasing team.

The Wagamama location at 1345 Avenue of the Americas, which is expected to open in the winter of 2018, will occupy approximately 7,000 square feet. At a second new location at Fisher Brothers’ 605 Third Avenue, the restaurant will occupy approximately 5,500 on the ground floor of the building, also opening in the winter of 2018. Both leases have 15-year terms.

“1345 Avenue of the Americas is an ideal site for our New York City flagship,” said Burton Heiss, managing director at Wagamama USA. “Our Head of Real Estate Jessica Kalimian was instrumental in finishing this deal, and when Lack proposed the additional opportunity at 605 Third Avenue, we ended up with two incredible locations in premier Midtown buildings due to NKF’s creative deal structuring and Fisher Brothers’ high standard of property management.”

Fisher Brothers is in its final stages of a major capital improvement program at 1345 Avenue of the Americas. In addition to a recently-completed redesign of the 50-story tower’s main entrance and lobby, Fisher Brothers is undertaking a series of functional and aesthetic improvements to the public plaza and adding brand new conference space, a stylish lounge area and a state-of-the-art fitness facility.

At 605 Third Avenue, Fisher Brothers recently completed a renovation of the 1.1 million-square-foot tower. The centerpiece of the project is the installation of two oversized digital glass windows, which were designed by the Rockwell Group and serve as giant kaleidoscopes visible from the sidewalk as well as inside the building.

“We are pleased to welcome Wagamama, which we believe was drawn to 1345 Avenue of the Americas and 605 Third Avenue for their ideal blend of corporate and cutting-edge design, as well as their highly-trafficked Midtown locations,” said Fisher Brothers Partner Winston Fisher. “We have made significant investments to reimagine our buildings and re-activate them at street level spaces through dynamic entrances, welcoming lobbies, and enlivened outdoor spaces, which are proving to be appealing to our office tenants and dynamic brands like Wagamama.”
