Two Pickard Chilton-designed Office Towers in Houston, TX Reach Completion

Pickard Chilton,an award-winning architecture studio best known for its innovative and cutting-edge design of corporate headquarters and campuses, announced the completion of two significant projects in Houston, TX – 609 Main at Texas and Amegy Bank Tower.

Standing 48 stories high, 609 Main is a 1,850,000-square-foot, ClassA, next-generation office tower in Houston’s Central Business District.

Considered one of the most ambitious skyscrapers developed in downtown Houston in years, the sustainably-designed tower includes an underfloor air system, ‘smart’ elevators, a sophisticated safety system, and flexible floor plates that allow daylight deep into the building. The tower will be clad in high performance floor-to-ceiling glass, offering panoramic views of greater Houston. In addition, the podium conceals parking for 1500 cars and features an expansive roof terrace.

609 Main’s prestigious tenantroster includes United Airlines, which is bringing together 1,400 employees from other offices in the city. The new United Airlines regional corporate headquarters will include a tech center, temperature-adjustable personal work stations, and two outdoor roof terraces. Tenants willhave access to a modern café in the "hotel-style" amenity-rich and tech-savvy lobby as well as a shared conference facility, a fine dining restaurant, and a fitness center. The office tower is at the intersection of the METRORail and bus lines, with a direct connection to the downtown pedestrian tunnel system.

Pickard Chilton also announced the completion ofthe Amegy Bank Towerwithin the Post Oak Park section of Houston’s Uptown District. The 23-story, 860,000 square-foot office tower features a gently curved glass façade that maximizes the views of downtown Houston and the Galleria.

The tower rests atop and integratesan enclosed eight-level parking podium. The podium roof accommodates a 10,000 square-foot conference pavilion surrounded by gardens.
