Levin Management Corporation (LMC) has appointed Lai Lau as controller. The Manalapan, N.J., resident brings more than 30 years of accounting experience specializing in retail shopping centers and commercial office buildings to her new position at the North Plainfield-based commercial real estate services firm.
Lau’s diverse background includes overseeing all phases of financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, cash flow analysis and supervision of staff accountants. At LMC, she is assisting Vice President/Chief Financial Officer Paul Tavaglione in maintaining the integrity of the firm’s financial reporting, and is responsible for a variety of finance and accounting functions.
Over the past 12 months, LMC has added 10 shopping center leasing and management assignments totaling 1.5 million square feet to its retail-focused portfolio, which today includes 100 properties totaling 14 million square feet. “Levin Management has an impressive reputation in the real estate industry,” said Lau. “The company’s significant growth over the last year and vision for the future makes it an attractive place to work. Prior to joining LMC, Lau held key positions at The Related Companies, CB Richard Ellis and Sage Realty. “Lai is an excellent addition to our growing accounting department,” said Tavaglione. “Her leadership skills and significant industry knowledge already are contributing to our team’s day-to-day operation and will be critical as we continue to expand our activity throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic marketplace.”
