DLA Piper received Latin Lawyer's Project Finance Deal of the Year award for its representation of Spanish technology solutions company Abengoa in the sale of a combined cycle power plant in Mexico, known as Norte III, to a consortium consisting of investment bank Macquarie Capital and construction conglomerate Techint.

The DLA Piper team involved in the deal included César Herrero, Juan Gelabert, Alvaro Cid, Jesús Zapata, (all Madrid), Richard Chesley (Chicago), Charles Carroll and Alexander Fraser (both New York).
