AmTrust Title Insurance Company announced that Gerard J. Simon, Jr. Esq., a seasoned attorney with more than two decades of experience as Legal Counsel to title insurance, settlement companies and corporations, among others, has joined as Vice President and Pennsylvania State Underwriting Counsel.

From his base in Pittsburgh, Mr. Simon is focused on helping AmTrust Title to expand its agency network throughout the State and to serve as underwriting counsel to the network.

Just prior to joining AmTrust Title, Mr. Simon was Senior Vice President/General Counsel for Pittsburgh-based iMortgage Services and SingleSource Property Solutions overseeing corporate, regulatory and operational matters for both companies. Before that, he held in-house Counsel positions for a wide variety of Pittsburgh-based enterprises, including: Ticor Title Insurance Company, and United General Title Insurance Company.

In a completely different vein, Mr. Simon began his career in 1984 serving as a Physician Assistant at Allegheny General Hospital in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery.

Among his multiple current and previous professional memberships are: Penn State Behrend Athletic Hall of Fame; Title and Appraisal Vendor Management Association; Real Estate Valuation Advocacy Association; Pennsylvania Land Title Association; Title Insurance Rating Bureau of Pennsylvania; and Title Insurance Rating Bureau of Delaware.

Mr. Simon earned a BS degree from Pennsylvania State University; a Surgeon Assistant Program at the University of Alabama Medical Center in Birmingham; and a JD degree from Duquesne University School of Law.
