AmTrust Title Insurance Company today announced that Karen G. Gutman Esq., an underwriter with more than three decades of experience in the title industry, has joined the Company as Vice President and Pennsylvania State Underwriting Counsel.

Based in Newtown, PA, Ms. Gutman will provide legal underwriting support and expertise to company personnel, agents and customers on real estate closings and title insurance matters, resolving title issues, and facilitating the issuance of title commitments and policies, while minimizing company risk.

Just prior to joining AmTrust Title, Ms. Gutman was Assistant Vice President & Pennsylvania Agency Underwriting Counsel for Philadelphia-based Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company/Chicago Title insurance Company. While there, she gained considerable commercial underwriting experienceby researching a wide variety of underwriting practices in order to assist the company’s underwriting team, among a host of other responsibilities.

Before that, she held a number of title-related posts for several companies in the Philadelphia/Princeton region, including: PNC Real Estate, Senior Closing Officer; and United General Title Insurance Company, Pennsylvania State Counsel.

Ms. Gutman earned a BA degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, and a JD degree from the University of Miami/Pace University School of Law in White Plains, New York.
