WX – Women Executives In Real Estate Announce 2017-2018 Scholars Program & Summer Internship Grant Program Recipients

WX New York Women Executives in Real Estate (WX) is pleased to announce the WX Scholars Program recipients for the 2017-2018 program year. The WX Charitable Fund has selected 24 women for the Scholars designation, which includes both financial and merit scholarships, totaling $125,000. The women are all recent graduates of undergraduate or graduate programs in the study of real estate and intend to work in the industry in the New York area.

Since the Scholars Program was launched in 2004, scholarships have been awarded to over 260 women at 14 schools, with a total value exceeding $1.26 million dollars. The WX Scholars Program is an initiative of the WX Charitable Fund, whose goal is to encourage and support bright and talented young women pursuing careers in real estate in the New York metropolitan area.

The Scholars are invited to participate in the WX Mentoring Program, which matches Scholars with WX mentors from various segments of the real estate industry.The Mentoring Program offersa dynamic schedule of educational, professional development, and networking events hosted by the organization. These activities foster productive relationships and offer mentees the opportunity to expand their professional networks as they enter the workforce.The Scholars are also invited to attend the annual Woman of the Year Gala, which is attended by hundreds of the City’s top real estate professionals and serves as the primary fund-raising effort for WX.

The Charitable Fund has also awarded five Summer Internship Grants, totaling $25,000 to students who are developing careers in real estate and related fields, and who require financial assistance with housing or other living expenses while participating in their summer jobs or internships in New York City.The WX Summer Internship Grant Program, founded in 2016,provides eligible students with a financial grant for summer living expenses while working in the New York real estate industry.This summer, XX grants were awarded to students from XX different school. The students will be working in various real estate fields, including finance, development, landscape architecture and affordable housing construction.
