Winick Realty Group Completes Retail Assignment at World Wide Group’s LUNA Building in Long Island City

6/19/18

Winick Realty Group Director Aaron S. Fishbein and President Steven E. Baker proudly announced the successful completion of the retail leasing assignment on behalf of World Wide Group at 42-15 Crescent Street, located between 42nd Road and Queens Plaza South in Long Island City.

The building, called the Luna, houses 124 luxury rental units in an area that straddles the Queens Plaza and Court Square neighborhoods. This prime location is surrounded by transportation options, with six nearby subway stations and 20 bus routes passing by, in addition to the heavily-trafficked Queensboro Bridge. This unmatched accessibility, as well as the opportunity to reach Long Island City’s incredibly-dense residential and office populations, made this building attractive to the five incoming tenants.

“We are incredibly proud to be bringing five high-level retailers to World Wide Group’s LUNA building. These five retailers saw how under-served and under-retailed Long Island City is and as each moves into their space and opens their doors, they look forward to offering much-needed retail and services to the residents of the building and of this growing community,” said Fishbein.

SLT Fitness, the popular fitness concept that offers a 50-minute class that combines cardio, strength training and Pilates into an efficient and effective workout, is set to open its first Queens location at 42-15 Crescent Street later this summer. The brand, which currently operates in six states, leased 2,400 square feet on the ground floor. They were represented by David Abrams of RKF in the lease transaction.

Popular Astoria-based bakery Chip is bringing its famous cookie creations to Long Island City in a 575-square-foot space. Expected to open in the fall of 2018, this will be the company’s third location, including a stall in Manhattan’s Gansevoort Market. Chip was represented by Eddie Mamiye of RKF.

Queensboro Plaza Dental Care, the dental practice of New York native Michael Nguyen and his wife, Fate Nguyen, leased 2,100 square feet on the ground floor and is open for business. Derek Ritter of Practice Real Estate Group represented the tenant.

Fishbein represented the final two retail tenants, both of whom recently opened and are successfully operating in the building. Healthy Living Pharmacy occupies 2,021 square feet on the ground floor, while Crescent Barbershop opened a 300 square-foot space.

“It was a pleasure working with Winick Realty Group to lease the retail space at LUNA,” said Rachel Loeb, Director of Development for World Wide Group. “This incredible mix of high-quality tenants will be a great match for the incredible building and community that we have created . All five tenants will serve the residents and community well.”
