AmTrust Title Insurance Company announced today that Deborah (“Deb”) B. Boyd, an attorney with more than 30 years of experience in title insurance, regulatory compliance and service as General Counsel for real estate-related companies, has joined as Florida State Counsel and will be based in South Florida

In her new post, Ms. Boyd will focus on business development and creating underwriting solutions for AmTrust Title and its Florida agents. Deb will also continue to actively represent title agents through leadership positions in industry organizations and work to protect agents in drafting new legislation. Additionally, she will continue to speak at agent and industry events on many topics, particularly new legislation and industry trends.

Just prior to joining AmTrust Title, Ms. Boyd was Vice President/Senior Commercial Underwriting Counsel for Fidelity National Title Group. She has served as an Underwriting Council consistently for title insurance companies since 2005, focusing on a wide variety of tasks including business development and innovative underwriting solutions. Earlier in her career, she held the post of General Counsel for a title company, an international realty company, a landfill company, and as a sole practitioner for several independent oil and gas exploration companies. Also, she was an adjunct professor for two universities and a college, teaching business, employment law and contracts.

She holds board posts in numerous industry associations, including Florida Land Title Association, American Land Title Association, Real Property, Probate and Trust Law (RPPTL) section and the Real Estate Certification Committee, of the State Bar of Florida, to name a few. She is a prolific writer, with articles that have been published in Florida Review, MI Real Property Review and bar association newsletters. Deb is a frequent speaker, nationally and throughout Florida, on various topics of interest to real estate attorneys and agents.

She earned a BS degree in theoretical mathematics from the Michigan State University, and JD degree from Western Michigan Thomas M. Colley Law School.
