Cecilia Guzmán-Barrón Joins DLA Piper's Labor and Migratory Practice in Peru

DLA Piper announced today that Cecilia Guzmán-Barrón has joined DLA Piper Pizarro Botto Escobar in Peru as a partner and leader of the Labor and Migratory practice.

Guzmán-Barrón advises national and international companies on all aspects of labor law, immigration and human resources, including hiring, reorganizing and managing complex layoffs, adapting corporate policies to local laws, implementing changes in organizations, inspections and labor procedures, and the prevention and resolution of conflicts.

Guzmán-Barrón also leads focused labor audits and due diligence and advises on issues in labor compliance and occupational health and safety. She offers clients advice on hiring foreign personnel, global mobility of Peruvians abroad and migration procedures.

"She has a sophisticated understanding of global marketplace developments in her field, which will enhance our practice offerings and ability to serve our clients immensely."

Guzmán-Barrón was previously the managing partner of Guzmán-Barrón Abogados and was a partner at Gallo Barrios Pickmann, Abogados, which has since combined with Dentons. She received her law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and her doctorate in law from the Universidad de Salamanca in Spain. She also serves as a professor of leadership, strategy and human resources at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú's CENTRUM Católica Graduate Business School.
